Newsletter – The Babbler

The Westwood Newsletter Committee puts out 5 to 6 newsletters a yearThese newsletters are printed and delivered to each of the resident’s homes.  They are published just before general meetings or special events.  We also offer an email delivery option.  If you are interested in joining our mailing list to receive our newsletter, please email westwoodcc@outlook.com

From the editor:  Folks, many of you may be curious why the Babbler isn’t put into your mailbox with the rest of your mail.  Here’s why: legally, your mailbox is the property of the United States Postal Service – and can only be used for mail delivered to you by the USPS.  For this reason, we are constrained about how we deliver the Babbler.  We can write it, print it, and deliver it to your porch, but we cannot place it in the mailbox.

We try to leave it where it won’t get wet, or be carried off by wild animals.  If we knew you had a butler, we’d ring the bell and place it in his gloved hand.  But since that doesn’t seem to be the case for most Westwood residents, we have to improvise with the available locations on your porch and the Babbler often ends up unceremoniously strewn on your doormat.

Our delivery team is chaired by Rhea Davis with help from Susan Pennington and a host of volunteers who walk their block or blocks to deliver it.

We can always use CONTRIBUTIONS OF ARTICLES OR COMMENTS to publish in the Babbler.  If you have something, please send it to Paul Sobieski at paulsobieski@att.net   We will review it and make sure it is pertinent to the Babbler and Westwood residents, then put it in the next Babbler.  Sometimes we need to make modifications before publication.  If you have photos, please send in .pdf or .jpeg format.

If you want to ADVERTISE IN THE BABBLER please contact Paul Sobieski.  You can reach me on my personal email at: paulsobieski@att.net, or call me on my cell at: 713-858-3291.   We have pricing for different size ads placed within the body of the Babbler, or for a full page insert.
